
Lara Khoury awarded prestigious CBA Prize
The Faculty of Law is pleased to announce that Professor Lara Khoury, Ad E, has received the 2023 Ramon John Hnatyshyn Award for Law of the Canadian Bar Association (CBA).
She was presented with an engraved bronze medallion designed by the Governor General’s Office of Heraldry at the CBA President’s Dinner in Ottawa on 21 June.

Daniel Weinstock appointed to the Order of Canada
The Faculty of Law is delighted to announce that Professor Daniel Weinstock, CM, has been named a member of the Order of Canada. His appointment was announced by Her Excellency the Right Honourable Mary Simon, Governor General of Canada, on 30 June.

Adelle Blackett honoured for scholarship, teaching, and social justice commitment
The Faculty of Law is pleased to announce that Professor Adelle Blackett, FRSC, Ad E, has received a Doctor of Laws, honoris causa, from Simon Fraser University (SFU). The honorary degree was bestowed upon her on 9 June at SFU’s Spring Convocation ceremony.

Institute of Air and Space Law to welcome two new senior professors, co-directors
The Faculty of Law is pleased to announce that Professor Vincent Correia and Professor Andrea Harrington will join its Institute of Air and Space Law (IASL). Â
They will begin their appointments on 1 August 2023, respectively as full professor and associate professor, and take the helm of the IASL as co-directors.Â

Hat trick for Jérémy Boulanger-Bonnelly, new Durnford Award winner
The Faculty of Law is pleased to announce that Jérémy Boulanger-Bonnelly has received the 2023 John W. Durnford Award for Teaching Excellence. Â
Named in honour of the late professor and former dean John W. Durnford (BCL'52), and conferred by students, this award each year recognizes a law professor’s exceptional pedagogy. Â
He will receive the award during the Law Convocation ceremony on 31 May.Â

Michelle Cumyn will join the Faculty of Law as full professor, Noah Weisbord as associate professor, and Jeffrey Kennedy as assistant professor. They will begin their appointments on 1 August 2023. Â
