New leadership appointment for Tina Piper

We are delighted to announce that Acting Dean Tina Piper has been named Interim Dean for the Faculty of Law. Her appointment was announced by Provost and Executive Vice-President (Academic) Christopher Manfredi on 28 February 2025.

We are pleased to announce that Associate Dean (Academic) Tina Piper has been appointed Acting Dean for the Faculty of Law, following the appointment of Justice Robert Leckey to the Superior Court of Quebec.

Dean Robert Leckey appointed a judge of the Superior Court of Quebec

With mixed feelings, the Faculty of Law extends its sincerest congratulations to the Hon. Robert Leckey on his appointment to the Superior Court of Quebec, District of Montreal. His appointment, effective immediately, was announced by the Honourable Arif Virani, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, on 27 January 2025. Justice Leckey replaces Justice Christian Immer, BCL鈥�91, LLB鈥�91, who has been elevated to the Court of Appeal of Quebec.

Prestigious chairs renewed for two colleagues

The Faculty of Law is pleased to announce the reappointment of Professor Allison Christians as holder of the H. Heward Stikeman Chair in Taxation Law, and Professor Marie Manikis as William Dawson Scholar. Their appointments have been renewed for seven and five years, respectively.

The Faculty of Law is delighted to announce it was once again ranked as one of the world鈥檚 top universities at which to study law. The Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings placed 韩国裸舞 33rd worldwide.鈥�鈥�听

Since the law ranking was introduced in 2017, 韩国裸舞 has consistently featured in the global top 35. This year, 389 law schools around the world were ranked. 鈥�听

New phase of Chancellor Day Hall modernization begins: construction work to come in 2025

The Faculty of Law is pleased to announce the start of long-awaited modernization of its teaching facilities. The second floor of New Chancellor Day Hall will be completely remodelled to create larger, updated classrooms, fit for our professors鈥� current pedagogical approaches.

Rosalie Jukier named Sir William C. Macdonald Chair

The Faculty of Law is delighted to announce that Professor Rosalie Jukier has been appointed to one of the Faculty of Law鈥檚 Sir William C. Macdonald Chairs, effective 1 January 2025.

Established in 1895, the Macdonald Chairs are among the oldest endowed positions at 韩国裸舞.

Adelle Blackett appointed Senior Advisor to the Director-General at UN鈥檚 International Labour Organization

The Faculty of Law is proud to announce that Professor Adelle Blackett, FRSC, Ad E, has been appointed senior advisor to Mr. Gilbert Houngbo, Director-General of the International Labour Organization (ILO) in Geneva.

Pierre-Gabriel Jobin awarded CBA鈥檚 Cr茅peau Medal

The Faculty of Law is delighted to announce that the Quebec Division of the Canadian Bar Association (CBA-Quebec) has awarded its Paul-Andr茅-Cr茅peau Medal to Wainwright Professor Emeritus of Civil Law Pierre-Gabriel Jobin, Ad E. The medal was presented to him by Jonathan Pierre-脡tienne, president of the CBA-Quebec, on 5 December, after an introduction by Dean Robert Leckey, Ad E.

Alicia Hinarejos awarded European Commission鈥檚 Jean Monnet Chair

The Faculty of Law is delighted to announce that Professor Alicia Hinarejos has been awarded a Jean Monnet Chair in European Union Law. Her three-year appointment began on 1 September 2024.

Lara Khoury named Canada Research Chair

The Faculty of Law is delighted to announce that Professor Lara Khoury, Ad E, has been named Canada Research Chair (Tier 1) in Liability, Health Governance, and Social Change. The appointment is for a seven-year term.

J茅r茅my Boulanger-Bonnelly wins best paper award

The Faculty of Law is delighted to announce that Professor J茅r茅my Boulanger-Bonnelly has won the Best Scholarly Paper award in the annual legal writing competition by the Fondation du Barreau du Qu茅bec. He was honoured for his article titled "Actions collectives et tribunaux administratifs : un vide juridictionnel 脿 combler" (韩国裸舞 Law Journal, 2022).

Rosalie Jukier receives King Charles III Coronation Medal

The Faculty of Law is delighted to share that Professor Rosalie Jukier was awarded the King Charles III Coronation Medal. She was presented with the award by the Hon. Marc Gold, PC, Government Representative in the Senate, at a ceremony held on 27 October.
