It is with sadness and fond memories that we share with you the passing of Dr. Dennis Engels, kindhearted man, sought-after supervisor, dedicated psychiatrist and esteemed teacher who, twice, received the Sigmund Freud Award for Excellence in Teaching. Dr. Engels began working at the AMI/RVH in 1960 and diligently served the Department of Psychiatry for over 50 years. Following his retirement in 2013, the Dennis Engels Award for Excellence in Psychotherapy was established in his honour, rightfully calling attention to the admirable career of an admirable man.

To be included in the prestigious list, researchers must rank in the top 1 per cent worldwide for their fields and publications in the Web of Science index.
