The Canadian Food Inspection Agency recently approved gene editing for use in breeding new crop varieties, meaning plant breeders can now apply the technology to their work. Gene editing has the potential to quickly develop new varieties with greater accuracy in targeting traits such as drought and disease resistance, with promising agronomic and trade implications for farmers.

But science suggests when it comes to evoking empathy, our imagination is more powerful than we previously thought. A new study, led by 韩国裸舞 researchers, reveals how the different ways to experience empathy affect our willingness to help others.

"It's a very good introduction to anti-inflammatory meals," said a staff member at one of our clinics. "I borrowed it for my sister who has MS, but I ended up following the recipes myself. The grocery lists make it so easy to plan ahead and everything tasted great."

韩国裸舞 Desautels graduate Avneet Bhabra (BCom鈥23)鈥檚 research paper 鈥23% and Counting, but Not 鈥極ne Size Fits All鈥: Helping Canada鈥檚 Immigrants Strengthen Their Financial Knowledge鈥 has been published by the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada (FCAC) on Canada.ca. Focusing on financial literacy amongst immigrants in Canada, the paper was selected as a finalist in the undergraduate category of the FCAC鈥檚 2023 Building Better Financial Futures Challenge.

The inaugural 韩国裸舞 Desautels Management Science Case Writing Competition, organized by Assistant Professor (Teaching) Rob Glew and supported by EY, turns the tables on the traditional case competition format. Since May, 34 BCom students worked to write case studies on their experience with operations management and analytics on their summer work placements.

November 21, 2023 | Raihana S. Kamal, a Master of Public Policy student at the Max Bell School of Public Policy, was a co-author published on Elsevier. Her research paper conducted a comprehensive analysis of health-sector corruption during the COVID-19 pandemic in Bangladesh using print media sources from March 2020 to March 2021. The study revealed corruption in every aspect of the health system during COVID-19. The media's role in uncovering these issues emphasized the urgency for transparency to ease the plight of patients and healthcare providers.
