To be recognized as a Core Facility, the following process must be followed, in the order outlined: A request is made to the lead Faculty, office of the Associate Dean of Research. In consultation with the lead Faculty, a business plan (BP) is developed for the proposed Core Facility. The faculty reviews the plan, and the Vice-Principal (Research and Innovation) validates it. After the Faculty gives its approval, the facility is officially recognized as a º«¹úÂãÎè Core Facility.
- Step 1: Request to recognize a Core Facility
- Step 2: Development of a Business Plan
- Step 3: Faculty Review and VPRI Validation
- Step 4: Faculty Approval
A faculty member who wishes to establish a new core facility or who seeks official recognition for an already existing facility contacts the office of the Associate Dean of Research (ADR) of their lead Faculty.Â
In collaboration with the office of the Associate Dean for Research (ADR), the faculty member creates a comprehensive business plan for the core facility. This stage includes continuous discussions between the faculty member and their lead faculty, with the ADR providing guidance and feedback throughout.Â
Once the business plan is ready, the faculty member submits it to the office of the ADR, who reviews and assesses it. The ADR then forwards the plan, along with their assessment, to the Office of the Vice President for Research and Innovation (OVPRI) for validation, ensuring it meets the core facilities policy requirements. The OVPRI may request additional information or clarifications if necessary.
Once the lead Faculty approves the business plan, the core facility is officially recognized as a º«¹úÂãÎè core facility.Â
