Matthew Ricketts (BMus ’09) receives 2019 Guggenheim Foundation Fellowship

NECMT Annual Meeting hosted by º«¹úÂãÎè this month

This month º«¹úÂãÎè is hosting the 34th Annual Meeting of the New England Conference of Music Theorists (NECMT) – the first time the event has ever been held in Montreal. NECMT’s main purpose is to foster the development of music theory, and provide a forum for exchanging ideas between music theorists.

World Hearing Day at the º«¹úÂãÎè Schulich School of Music: Presentation of the Hearing-Care Platform

On the occasion of World Hearing Day (WHD) on March 3, the Schulich School of Music of º«¹úÂãÎè, in collaboration with the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Music Media and Technology (CIRMMT), presents the Hearing-Care Platform: A practical and accessible set of tools for the self-assessment of noise exposure, which are particularly aimed at young musicians and youths in general.

Andrew Crust named Assistant Conductor of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra

Congratulations to Andrew Crust (MMus 2012), who was recently appointed as the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra's Assistant Conductor! Beginning in September 2019, Andrew will conduct a large variety of programming with the VSO, including subscription concerts, concerts for children, Pops, and more.

Memorial Tribute for Dr. Daryl Robert Gibson

In honour of his passing on October 31, 2018, the family is planning a remembrance on February 17, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. (Evensong service) at Christ Church Cathedral (635 Saint-Catherine St. W.). At the request of the family, donations may be made in his name to St. Mary’s Hospital Cancer Care Fund.

Richard Stoelzel: new Interim Music Director of the Lakeshore Concert Band
