His appointment, effective immediately, was announced by the Honourable Arif Virani, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, on 27 January 2025. Justice Leckey replaces Justice Christian Immer, BCL鈥91, LLB鈥91, who has been elevated to the Court of Appeal of Quebec.

The Clinical Exercise and Respiratory Physiology Laboratory (CERPL) and the Movement Technologies and Innovation (MOTION) Laboratory, in collaboration with , are seeking female volunteers for a research study investigating whether breast reduction surgery impacts breathing and biomechanics during exercise.

The study is looking for 16 healthy women who are planning to undergo breast reduction surgery and are able to walk, jog, and run on a treadmill.
