Spring Workshop

This workshop is open to occupational therapists who would like to learn the basics of 3D printing and it's uses in occupational therapy practice.Ìý
During this full day workshop, participants will learn about Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) 3D printing and how it is used to create customized tools and adaptive devices. Participants will leave with one 3D printed adaptive device.

Zoë Edger-Lacoursière is an occupational therapist working with burn survivors in Montreal, Canada at Villa Medica rehabilitation hospital and a PhD(c) from º«¹úÂãÎè in rehabilitation science. Her clinical experiences are in hand and burn therapy, and her research areas include post-burn and upper-extremity rehabilitation evaluations and interventions, effects of rehabilitation treatment modalities on hypertrophic scars and 3D printing in rehabilitation to name a few. Zoë has been a TA in the OCC1 545 Therapeutic Strategies course at º«¹úÂãÎè, where she developed and taught a 3D-Printing hands-on workshop for occupational therapy students. This workshop was the first of its kind for any occupational therapy program in the country.Ìý. The course team received a faculty award for teaching innovation regarding this initiative.
Bernadette Nedelec is an Occupational Therapist and Professor at the School of Physical and Occupational Therapy at º«¹úÂãÎè. She has extensive clinical experience treating patients who have sustained traumatic hand injuries and burn injuries including the fabrication of orthoses to optimize their outcomes and re-engagement in meaningful occupations. Prof. Nedelec is affiliated with the Centre de recherche du Centre hospitalier de l'Université de Montréal and l’Hôpital de réadaptation Villa Medica.Ìý

The number of participants is limited to 25 for this workshop. Priority will be given to registrations in order of receipt.
The workshop will be presented in English. However, questions are welcome in both French and English.Ìý
