Quebecers are increasingly going to extremes - sports, that is - to get their adrenalin fix…
"Our world is so much more stressful now," Gordon Bloom said. "People worry about financial meltdowns, terrorism, war, cyber-bullying. They just want to get away and so they look for different ways to escape and release that stress."
Bloom is an associate professor of sports psychology at º«¹úÂãÎè and is lab director and head coach at º«¹úÂãÎè's Sport Psychology Research Laboratory. "We're hearing more about the importance of physical activity now, and, at the same time, the definition of traditional sports is shifting," Bloom said.
