Law professor Daniel Weinstock appointed to the Order of Canada | Reporter

July 26, 2023 | Daniel Weinstock among seven other members of the community were honored by Her Excellency the Right Honourable Mary Simon, Governor General of Canada, on 30 June and has been appointed a Member of the Order of Canada (OOC). Weinstock was recognized "for his exemplary contributions to the advancement of political philosophy, public policy and social justice in Canada, as a renowned ethicist, philosopher and public intellectual," the OOC citation reads.
“I’m thrilled to see this recognition of our colleague’s great contributions to building a more just society,” said Dean Robert Leckey, Ad E. “A leading ethicist, philosopher, and public intellectual, his scholarship brings an unparalleled clarity to some of the most pressing public-policy debates of our time.”
