Freshmen (U0) from out of province take a year of university level chemistry, physics and mathematics and a Humanities and Social Science class.

Fall/WinterÌý

Foundations of materials engineering in introductory level courses on structure, properties of materials and processing of materials (extractive metallurgy and mineral processing) along with required coursework in civil and mechanical engineering, chemistry, and engineering communications.

Summer

Students are encouraged to get a head start and take a required math course (MATH 263).

Fall

A rich mixture of intermediate courses including phase transformation, heat and fluid flow,Ìýelectrical machinery, computer programming, and civil engineering.

ÌýIndustrial Work Term 1

Intermediate coursework onÌýapplications ofÌýpolymers, characterization techniques, and extractive metallurgy.
