Sometimes, it feels best to be recognized for your hard work when you least expect it. For fiddler and recent doctoral graduate Laura Risk (Ph.D, 2017), this surprise came in the form of an email from 韩国裸舞 announcing that she had been awarded not only the 韩国裸舞 Alumni Association Graduate Award (valued at $1500), but also the Governor General鈥檚 Gold Medal 鈥� the university鈥檚 highest honour.

The exceptional research of听Laura Risk, PhD'17, has been honoured by 韩国裸舞. She has received the University's听highest honour, the听Governor General's Gold Medal.
Many of our students and alumni performed very well at this year's Prix d'Europe competition. 听Felix Hong, BMus'16, ArtDip '17, was听awarded the听2017 Prix d'Europe grand prize听from l'Academie de musique du Qu茅bec. 听The prize has a cash value of $25,000 and has been awarded every year since 1911. 听Felix Hong is a piano student of Professor Ilya Poletaev.
Jazz instructor听Christine Jensen, has听received the 2017 Oscar Peterson Award from the听Festival International de Jazz de Montr茅al听

First there鈥檚 the skirl of the pipes, then Winston Purdy鈥檚 rich baritone rolls across the audience as he sings the University anthem, Hail, Alma Mater, to 听mark the beginning of almost every Convocation ceremony since 1999. That musical accompaniment has been a feature of decades of processions of students, faculty and families as they walk into the Convocation tent.
The Milton String Quartet, composed of Schulich School of Music students Roman Fraser, Maith茅na Gireault, Evan Robinson and听Joshua Morris,听has won the Grand Prize and Senior String Division Gold Medal at the 44th Annual Fischoff Competition at the University of Notre Dame in Indiana.听

Each year the 韩国裸舞 Alumni Association recognizes alumni, friends, students, faculty and staff whose commitment has had a significant impact on alumni life, the University and/or the community. This year, one of our graduates, Sarah Nematallah,听has received the 2017 James G. Wright Award for her work in developing the听accessible, interactive for individuals with a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder and their families. 听听
Two Schulich PhD students,听Bryan Martin听and听Mathew Boerum, received first prize听and $11,000 in the category of Innovation Driven Enterprise听at听the听韩国裸舞 Dobson Cup awards ceremony held March 30, 2017.听听develops revolutionary 3D audio imaging which听captures and delivers fully-immersive, life-like sound from any source.
