Congratulations to Alessandra Amato on her poster presentation at the 2020 Virtual Annual Meeting from September 11-15, 2020 titled ‘Evaluating the Muscle-Bone Unit in Severe Obesity with and without Type 2 Diabetes”. The conference annually connects over 3,000 scientists from around the world for the premier scientific program presenting cutting-edge research in the bone, mineral, and musculoskeletal field.

In this “From Failing Hands” podcast excerpt, Education’s Dr. Gordon Bloom (Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education) discusses sport psychology in high performance, as a vital training component for professional athletes and others in high-pressure scenarios. Dr. Bloom highlights the need for athletes to not only train their bodies but to also train their minds and be resilient in order to prepare for competition and performance. He further reiterates that this is an ongoing process; not a quick fix.

Preference is given to Master’s and Ph.D. students conducting research with a focus on teaching. Award value: $9,000.
