Brian Pel has been honoured as the first Toronto recipient of one of the Faculty of Law's most prestigious awards - the James A. Robb Award –  for his exemplary volunteer service to the Faculty of Law at º«¹úÂãÎè.

Named after the great º«¹úÂãÎè volunteer James Robb, B.A. '51, B.C.L. '54, this award is intended to recognize law graduates who have shown exceptional generosity to the º«¹úÂãÎè community.

"Like James Robb, Brian has been a tireless volunteer," said Dean of Law Nicholas Kasirer. "In his case, this is a particularly remarkable achievement, as his commitment and contribution to º«¹úÂãÎè Law seems to know no geographic boundaries."

James Robb, the Honourable Mr. Justice Allan R. Hilton, and A. H. Graham Nesbitt also attended the award presentation at the University Club on April 7, and toasted Brian Pel's accomplished career.

A highly successful tax partner with McCarthy Tétrault's Toronto office, Pel is considered a leading practitioner in his field. He has championed Campaign º«¹úÂãÎè's fundraising efforts in Toronto, he sits on the Faculty Advisory Board (Toronto), and last fall, he participated in the External Review at the Faculty of Law.
