Biography: 

Dr. Sarkis Meterissian is a Professor of Surgery and Oncology at º«¹úÂãÎè and the Director of the Breast Center of the º«¹úÂãÎè Health Centre (MUHC). Based at the Royal Victoria Hospital at the MUHC Glen site, Dr. Meterissian specializes in the management of breast cancer and melanoma. 

His current research focuses on advancing breast cancer care, with projects including: 

  • Assessing tumor margins using Raman spectroscopy in collaboration with the Université de Montréal (NSERC grant-funded). 

  • Evaluating the impact of life coaching on life adjustment in breast cancer survivors (Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation-funded). 

  • Investigating the molecular biology of ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) (Cancer Research Society-funded). 

Dr. Meterissian is committed to improving patient outcomes through both innovative research and clinical excellence in oncology.
