Théorie et analyse de la musique : Compositional resources of early and mid-18th Century music. Thorough review of elementary harmonic procedure. Introduction to chromatic alteration and linear chords, and to analysis of imitative and invertible counterpoint. Analysis of common forms of the period c.1700 - 1770, including principal Baroque forms, but not including the Classical sonata.
