Colleagues,
It is with great sadness that I share with members of the Faculty and entire University community news of Professor Laurie Hendren’s passing, on May 27, 2019.
As a member of the School of Computer Science, Laurie was an exceptional teacher, researcher, colleague, and above all, friend.
Laurie’s award-winning teaching brought an understanding of computer science to thousands of º«¹úÂãÎè students over the years. Her research has enabled programmers across many disciplines to create better and faster computer programs. And her many contributions as Associate Dean (Academic) in the Faculty of Science were always directed to making the º«¹úÂãÎè experience as positive as possible for students.
We share our sadness with Laurie’s spouse, Prof. Prakash Panangaden, and their daughter Jane.
