The Department of Pediatrics would like to introduce our newest member, Dr. Stephanie Mourad who has been appointed as Assistant Professor in the Division of Hematology-Oncology.
After completing medical school, pediatrics residency and hematology-oncology fellowship at the Montreal Children’s Hospital, I am thrilled to return to my home institution and join the exceptional team at the Children’s. I am currently completing my subspecialty fellowship in leukemia-lymphoma at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto where I gained expertise in the management of relapsed/refractory pediatric leukemia.
While in Toronto, I concentrated my practice and clinical research on the use of CAR T-cell therapy, a novel form of immunotherapy, for the treatment of relapsed/refractory leukemia and lymphoma. I also spent a lot of time working with the bone marrow transplant team to acquire additional experience in this field.
In my spare time, I enjoy reading, discovering new restaurants and spending time with family and friends. I love to travel around the world, but also to spend time at the cottage, closer to home.
I am very excited to start practice at the Children’s and am looking forward to working with all my colleagues.
