The results of the 2017Ìý are in!

Featuring woodwinds, brass and voice, the 2017 edition of the competition took place from November 21-25, 2017, with cash prizes, scholarships, recordings and concert opportunities all offered to the winners. The semi-final rounds took place, once again this year, in Tanna Schulich Hall at the Schulich School of Music, and the finals in the Maison symphoniqueÌýdeÌýMontréal. There were a total of 22 semi-finalists in the three categories, of which 11 had ties to º«¹úÂãÎè:

Voice: Megan Miceli, voice (M.Mus ’16, Gr.Dip ’17), Dimitri Katotakis, voice (M.Mus ’15), Myriam Leblanc, voice (B.Mus ’11), Lucas van Lierop, voice (B.Mus ’10, M.Mus ’12) and Anna-Sophie Neher, voice (current M.Mus)

• Eric Abramovitz (B.Mus '16), clarinet: 2nd prize in the Woodwind Category and winner of the "Best performance of a Canadian work" offered by the OSM Volunteer Association.
• Dakota Martin (B.Mus '14), flute: 3rd prize in the Woodwind Category and winner of Stingray Music's Rising Star Prize.
• Hillary Simms (B.Mus '16), trombone: 2nd prize in the Brass Category
• Anna-Sophie Neher (current M.Mus), soprano: 1st prize in the Voice Category
