How to keep your Genome Secret
Abstract:
This talk will describe a mathematical solution for securelyÌýhandling outsourced computation in the cloud, usingÌýhomomorphic encryption. One application is to provide privateÌýstorage and computation on genomic data, to protect the longtermÌýprivacy of the data. Many other applications in the health,Ìýfinancial, and public sectors can make use of homomorphicÌýencryption techniques to securely and privately store andÌýcompute on encrypted data. Current solutions for HomomorphicÌýEncryption are based on hard problems in number theory related
to lattices. This talk will survey the theory and practice ofÌýhomomorphic encryption today.
