Research in the Burgos lab is focused on understanding how dietary and genetic factors influence insulin sensitivity in humans, with particularly emphasis on people at risk of developing type 2 diabetes.
Projects:
1. Role of dairy products in the prevention of type 2 diabetes: Effect of dairy fat content and food matrix on insulin sensitivity in obese people with prediabetes.
2. Genomics approach to study molecular heterogeneity in the pathogenesis of type 2 diabetes.
