EPSC 231 Field School I
I am an expert in crustal structure and tectonics, specializing in lower- to mid-crustal deformation and the formation, deformation, and exhumation of sedimentary basins. I am particularly interested in the global history of accretionary orogens, such as the Northern Appalachians. My work combines field-based research and radioisotope geochemistry, including U-Pb dating techniques, to gain insight into rock deformation rates and to better characterize tectonic events. In teaching, I emphasize an integrated and field-based approach, that integrates fieldwork and real-world applications to help students develop a comprehensive understanding of geologic processes.
