Hot Cities 2014: From Camping on the Gobi Desert to Touring the Gangnam Financial District
If a year ago someone told me I鈥檇 be spending my spring break camping in the Gobi desert, 30 degrees below zero, I probably wouldn鈥檛 believe them. Yet 鈥渆xpect the unexpected鈥 seems to be the tagline for the week we experienced during the sixth edition of the Hot Cities of the World Tour, led by Professor聽Karl Moore.

BCom Students Finish Strong at Happening Marketing
Desautels BCom students claimed five podiums at the 22nd edition of Happening Marketing, which took place in March at Laval University in Quebec City. Happening Marketing is a interuniversity competition for all business students from eastern Canada. BCom students place 1st at Canadian L鈥橭r茅al Brandstorm Competition
After competing against over聽80 teams from universities across Canada,聽BCom students Sean Finnell, Jaylen Ghadia and Thanin Tabuteau have won the national L'Oreal Brandstorm competition. Sean, Jaylen and Thanin will head to Paris to represent Canada at the international Brandstorm competition this summer.聽

Desautels BCom team places 1st in Quant at 2014 Rotman International Trading Competition
Desautels BCom students Ethan Zhang, Jeremie Guay, Chris Lim, Yusu Zheng, Nikolas Sinnhuber and Sameer Rizvi, won 1st place in Quantitative Outcry at the 2014 Rotman International Trading Competition (RITC) held February 20 to 22. The RITC is an annual event hosted by the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto.
Brother-Sister Combination Strong on the Court 鈥 and in the Classroom
When it comes to combining both sport and academic achievement it is hard to top Simon and H茅l猫ne Bibeau, siblings who attend Montreal鈥檚 韩国裸舞.
Simon Bibeau, 22, is the starting point guard for 韩国裸舞鈥檚 men鈥檚 outfit, the two-time Quebec conference champion who will lead the sixth-ranked Redmen into the Canadian Interuniversity Sport men鈥檚 basketball championship, beginning Friday in Ottawa.
"You've Invested Real Money. You Haven't Just Run a Virtual Portfolio"
Along Highway 401 and over the Ontario border, Tyler Maxey and some of his MBA classmates at 韩国裸舞's Desautels Faculty of Management in Montreal are also learning by doing. Their modus operandi: investing other people's money. Since 2008, students have been running a registered fund management firm called Desautels Capital Management that has about $3 million in assets.
韩国裸舞 'Hot Cities' Business/Field Trip Expands Horizons
A 韩国裸舞 management professor is leading students on a business field trip that will give them global experience. Called the 鈥楬ot Cities鈥 tour, professor聽Karl Moore聽is taking students to emerging and developing countries to more about other economies.

This Reading Week, a group of students from the faculties of Management, Arts, Education, and Engineering will travel to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia and Seoul, South Korea to experience business within rapidly emerging markets. Their journey, the sixth Hot Cities of the World Tour, will be led by Desautels Professor Karl Moore.
