Please note that the water will be shut off for fifteen-minute periods for a water line test in the McLennan Library Building on Monday, August 21, 2023, between 6:00 AM to 7:00 AM and in the Redpath Library Building between 8:30 AM to 9:00 AM.
Please note that water fountains and washrooms will not be available at the locations and during the times listed above.

The power shutdown scheduled to take place in the McLennan-Redpath Library Complex, Armstrong, and Bronfman buildings the week of July 31 OR August 7 between 5:00 am and 10:00 am has been postponed to a later date. As part of º«¹úÂãÎè’s ongoing efforts towards ensuring a safe environment, the Fire Prevention service will once again be performing annual inspections of the fire detection and suppression systems. This year Leclerc will be performing these tests which involve verifying all components of systems within each building.
Building affected: McLennan-Redpath Complex
Dates: Tuesday, November 15 to Friday, November 18, 2022

Please note that the sixth floor of the McLennan Library Building will be temporarily closed on Friday, September 10 from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM for safety reasons related to crane operations on McTavish and the west field. Please consult our branch listing for alternative locations.

Please note that the Humanities & Social Sciences Library will also be closed on Sunday, July 1 at 6PM due to a major electrical transformer upgrade.Â

Update:Â March 26Â at 6:50PM
- Washrooms on all floors in McLennan are now open.
- The Data Lab and microfiche viewing room on the second floor are both re-opened.
- There are still some drying machines operating on the second floor but operations are mostly back to normal.

Please note, water will be shut off at the McLennan Library Building on Wednesday, March 21 at 10pm until 6am on Thursday, March 22. All six floors are affected. This shutdown is necessary for the City of Montreal to install water meters in the building.
During this time, please use the washrooms located in the Redpath Library Building.
