“We saw these handbags and we wanted to buy these handbags,” Graber said, gesturing to the camel-colored leather model on the checkout counter at the company’s store on Lexington Avenue in Midtown Manhattan.

... The retailer has a value of $1.7 billion, according to data compiled by Bloomberg, making Aldo’s executive chairman, Aldo Bensadoun (BCom'64, LLD'12), a billionaire.

Wearable devices are just starting to take off and global electronics companies are racing to release smartwatches ahead of rivals to capture a bigger slice of the emerging next-generation market.

... LG plans to introduce a smartwatch jointly developed with Google. The G Watch will be released sometime between April and June this year. President Park Jong-seok (IMPM'07) of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company said that the opportunity to work with Google "was the perfect chance for LG to really pull out all stops in both design and engineering."

Since January, I've been teaching a somewhat different type of course at . While saddled with the unfortunate standard curriculum name "Marketing and Society," the class is anything but.

Montreal-based investment firm Formula Growth Ltd. is hoping its $1.1-million gift to four business schools on Monday will inspire other private companies to help out the province’s struggling universities.

Four Quebec business schools — Concordia University’s John Molson School of Business, ’s Desautels Faculty of Management, Bishop’s University and HEC Montréal — got a much-needed private injection of funds with the $1.1-million donation, which is intended to foster entrepreneurship and innovative learning environments.

Darren Entwistle (MBA'88) is stepping down as chief executive of Telus, but his influence in running the company he built from a regional telephone service into a $25-billion national wireless player will remain.

... professor Karl Moore said most CEOs leave after six to 10 years and don’t stick around as long as Entwistle.

“It may be a little long, but I wouldn’t be too critical of it because of the kind of change he has brought to Telus in the time that he has been there and been in charge,” he said.

Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak announced today that according to data analysis, the plane crashed into the Southern Indian Ocean, killing all 239 passengers. The plane, which was heading from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing, disappeared on March 8.

Lili Hall (IMPM'13) came across the International Masters Program in Practicing Management (IMPM) by chance. She had considered MBA programs before, but the standard options seemed too formulaic. “Every time I looked at the curriculum, I’d get sad,” she says. As the founder and CEO of KNOCK, inc., a creative agency, Hall had already enjoyed a lot of professional success. She wasn’t looking to switch industries or climb the corporate ladder. “For me, it was very personal,” she explains. “I wanted to be challenged personally, and obviously professionally.”

Türk Telekom, the leading communications and convergence technology company in Turkey, announces the restructuring of its leadership by combining the roles of the Group CEO and the General Manager into a single CEO position.
