The RSC Fellowship is comprised of over 2,400 Canadian scholars, artists, and scientists, who are peer-elected as leaders in their field and have made remarkable contributions in the arts, the humanities, the sciences, and Canadian public life. The RSC recognizes excellence across disciplines by electing Fellows to one of three Academies: The Academy of Sciences, the Academy of Social Sciences, and the Academy of Arts and Humanities.
When you learn you’ve been awarded Canada’s largest scholarship for STEM studies, it’s a pretty heady moment. Just ask some ofÌý. These new º«¹úÂãÎè students hail from New Brunswick to Vancouver and are among the 100 recipients in Canada this year of Schulich Leader Scholarships, valued at up to $120,000.

º«¹úÂãÎè students are working with Costa Rican non-governmental organizations to safeguard howler monkeys from road hazards. Through their research, they’ve created a "Mono-SOS" website for accident reporting in partnership with a local NGO, SalveMonos.
Ten students have been named º«¹úÂãÎè’s recipients of the prestigious Schulich Leader Scholarship, Canada’s largest Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) scholarship.
º«¹úÂãÎè graduate Seymour Schulich, BSc’61, MBA’65, DLitt’04, an entrepreneur and one of Canada’s leading philanthropists, created the scholarship fund in 2012 to encourage outstanding entrepreneurial-minded students on their paths to becoming technology innovators.

The Royal Society of Canada (RSC) honours new Fellows.Ìý Among the three new Fellows elected to the Academy of Social Sciences is Professor of Social Work and Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Children, Families and Armed Conflict,ÌýMyriam Denov.
Her award-winning scholarship and advocacy for children and families affected by war and migration have been previously recognized with the SSHRC Insight Award and the Killam Research Fellowship. In 2015, Denov was elected a Member of the RSC’s College.ÌýÌý
Today, The Royal Society of Canada (RSC) announced 101 new Fellows and 58 new Members of the College of New Scholars, Artists, and Scientists.
