Alongside ALL IN 2023 happening in Montreal, global video game leader Ubisoft, Mila - Quebec Artificial Intelligence Institute, the world鈥檚 largest academic deep learning (DL) research institute, and 韩国裸舞 are proud to announce the creation of Ubisoft-Mila's new research Chair, Scaling Game Worlds with Responsible AI. This five-year Chair will be led by 韩国裸舞鈥檚 Associate Professor, Dr. Derek Nowrouzezahrai, and will explore the ethical use of AI in the large-scale game development content creation pipeline.

Canada has updated its travel advisory for its citizens in India as tensions mount between the two countries over the murder of Canadian Sikh leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar in British Columbia. In a recent update, the Canadian government cautioned about the potential for demonstrations and 鈥渘egative sentiments鈥� toward Canada in the wake of allegations that Indian government agents may be linked to the killing of Nijjar. On 26 September, IASL Co-Director Prof. Andrea Harrington travelled to Washington DC to provide a lecture about the development and use of international institutions with a focus on space security and space safety to a cohort of students enrolled in the Master of International Public Policy program at the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies campus. She delivered the lecture and then participated in the three seminar discussions in the brand new JHU facility at 555 Pennsylvania avenue, which opened last month.

September 16, 2023 | On September 6 the Bank of Canada decided to hold interest rates steady after two years of high inflation and 18 months of rising interest rates. The premiers of Ontario, British Columbia and Newfoundland and Labrador each wrote to the Bank of Canada urging it not to raise interest rates, following the critics from Justin Trudeau's caucus stating that the government has lost focus on affordability issues, especially regarding housing.

As the planet gets hotter, the need for cool living environments is becoming more urgent. But air conditioning is a major contributor to global warming since units use potent greenhouse gases and lots of energy.
Now, researchers from 韩国裸舞, UCLA and Princeton have found in a an inexpensive, sustainable alternative to mechanical cooling with refrigerants in hot and arid climates, and a way to mitigate dangerous heat waves during electricity blackouts.

Not only has their research shed light on the nature of TRAPPIST-1 b, the exoplanet orbiting closest to the system鈥檚 star, but it has also shown the importance of parent stars when studying exoplanets.
