The 2018 Jaclyn Fisher Management Career Fair saw a high turnout of approximately 720 students and recent graduates from across 10 faculties at .

Attendees were able to learn firsthand about the different career opportunities available to them through the 59 participating organizations from a diversity of industries.

With a relaxed visa regime and strong job market, Canada has emerged as an excellent option for many prospective MBA students. Adam Halpert(MBA’10), Associate Director of MBA Career Services, cites Canada’s embrace of diversity as a contributing factor.

Last March, a group comprised of Desautels students hosted the inaugural Empower conference, which promoted the benefits of disability inclusion in the workforce.

Since then, the initiative has earned the first prize in theMutual Aid, Peace and Justice category of this year’s Forces Avenir awards. With plans already underway to host another conference in January, the organizers are again looking to empower students with disabilities who are looking ahead to their future careers.

As students looking to start their careers realize the value of getting sound advice, the number of student-mentor pairings in Canada is growing at a rapid rate. The growth and evolution of the Desautels mentorship program echoes that of many other schools’ programs. When the Desautels MBA mentorship started a decade ago, it was aimed at female students, but has since expanded to include all students and an online component.

Dollard des Ormeaux’sJaclyn (Jackie) Lea Fisherpassed away on March 21, 2015, following a lengthy battle with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) and primary peritoneal carcinoma, a rare cancer, especially in young adults.

“This is the biggest event that they organize each year, but the Centre provides thousands of BCom, MBA, Masters and PhD students with career coaching, advising, mock interview services, speed interviewing, networking sessions, and so much more,” explainedJennifer Kambhampatifrom the Desautels Faculty of Management.
