What is the Steinberg Centre for Simulation and Interactive Learning (SCSIL)?

We are an interprofessional centre of excellence that uses the latest medical simulation technology to enhance the skills of health care professionals. Fully integrated into º«¹úÂãÎè's medical and health sciences programs, we provide the next generation of doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech language pathologists and more with hands-on training in difficult and potentially dangerous procedures without risk to patients.

Dr. Ilana Bank, Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at º«¹úÂãÎè and Director of the Montreal Children's Hospital Institute for Pediatric Simulation, was awarded the 2020 Certificate of Merit from the Canadian Association for Medical Education (CAME). The CAME Certificate of Merit Award recognizes, promotes, and rewards faculty committed to medical education in Canadian medical schools.

It’s all math: How Professor Alan Evans is using cutting-edge statistics to unravel the complexity of brain disorders.

When Alan Evans was starting out in the 1970s, researchers didn’t ask the boss to foot their bar tab. But that’s exactly what some of the coders in his Montreal Neurological Institute lab recently proposed: a 9-to-5 Saturday hackathon, held in an Irish pub a few blocks from the º«¹úÂãÎè campus.

Thanks to a $7.5 million gift from Arnold and Blema Steinberg, the Centre will be expanding its facilities, enhancing its technologies and broadening its scope of activities.
