On February 5, the Desautels Management Competition Committee took third place at the 14th annual Financial Open, the largest Finance and Accounting base case competition in Eastern Canada. The BCom students competed against their peers from 14 other universities, securing 4 podiums, including first in financial accounting and stock market simulation, good for third place overall. The Holme Grange School (U.K.) recently became the first school in the world to earn the eduCCate Global Gold Award in recognition of its efforts to equip students with tools to fight climate change. Endowed by Laidley鈥檚 gift of $5 million, the Centre will carve out a space for 韩国裸舞 researchers across disciplines to advance ethics in the workplace through academic programming, leading-edge research, and public engagement. While AI software could eliminate some bias in recruiting, Professor Matissa Hollister says the tool can exacerbate other types of bias, especially related to gender or education, by relying too heavily on an employee鈥檚 previous hiring patterns. She urges companies to be transparent with their candidates about the use of AI and acknowledge the technology鈥檚 shortcomings when deploying it as a hiring tool.
