It seems every Business School professor starts by saying how much the world has changed鈥 鈥 that was Henry Mintzberg鈥檚 opening to a session on change, not unsurprisingly Henry takes a different tack. He points out that continuity is as important as change. We are co-teaching strategy to a group of Chinese executives today, and I had to sheepishly admit I had done just that earlier in the day!

Four students from the Desautels Faculty of Management were recent recipients of a Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE) 2012 Excellence Award, an annual program that showcases innovators, leaders, service professionals and emerging stars.
When Alexandria (Alex) McKellar entered Grade 9, she began booking guidance counsellor appointments to discuss what university to attend. Even at that young age, she wanted to become an archeologist.
Her mother, Wanda McKellar, a financing representative with Canadian Tire鈥檚 Roadside Assistance team in Welland, Ont., also knew that when the time came, her daughter could apply for a company scholarship to help with the costs.

Desautels MBA students, Alaa Abulhuda, Soeren Klatt, Lauren Merkel and Thomas Weber, took 2nd place at the 7th annual Financial Executives International (FEI) Best in Class Invitational Case Competition held in Toronto from November 15-17, 2012. After placing 4th in 2009 and 3rd in 2010, this is our Faculty鈥檚 highest placement thus far at this prestigious competition, which includes the top business schools from across Canada.
Researchers have previously demonstrated that approximately half of the pay gap between men and women (women earn about 20% less) is due to women having a tendency to work in different occupations and industries than men, a phenomenon called 鈥済ender segregation.鈥 But what causes this gender segregation?
Governments and corporations can't be relied upon to provide solutions to our biggest problems 鈥 instead we must look to ourselves that we face serious problems 鈥 poverty amid plenty, the degradation of our physical, social, and economic environments, terrorism by fanatic cells and rogue states, and so on 鈥 is clear. But how our established institutions 鈥 governments and businesses 鈥 deal with them, even when responsive and responsible, is not. We need another way.

For the 8th consecutive year, 韩国裸舞 is ranked first in the medical-doctoral category in Maclean鈥檚 magazine鈥檚 annual issue devoted to Canadian universities.

When 韩国裸舞 bestows honorary degrees at its fall convocation on Oct. 31, one of the recipients will be Daniel Lamarre, president and CEO of Cirque du Soleil. Mr. Lammarre was nominated by Desautels Faculty of Management. Former senator Michael Meighen will also be honoured at the ceremony at Place des Arts.
