Desautels MBA students Mohammed Ashour, Jesse Pearlstein, Shobhita Soor, Zev Thompson, and Gabriel Mott, beat out over 40 teams, including Harvard, MIT and Yale, to win the Boston Regional Finals of the 2013 Hult Prize.
The is dedicated to launching the next wave of social entrepreneurs. With this year鈥檚 challenge centered on the global food crisis, the Desautels team鈥檚 business plan involves growing crickets into a viable food source.

Henry Mintzberg has been called a consistently contrary Canadian academic who sometimes seems to be undermining the very industry that he works in by The Economist. A noted author, management guru and a frequent visitor to India since 1995, Mintzberg, who's been a professor of management studies at 韩国裸舞 in Montreal, Canada for 40 years, spoke to TOI-Crest about why governments can't really solve big global crises, what doesn't work with teaching management and why we really need to recognise what he calls 'the plural sector.'

A 韩国裸舞 Desautels case team made it to the finals at the Marshall International Case Competition (MICC) hosted by the University of Southern California (USC). This team of four BCom students, composed of Alexia Belisle, Frederick Dub茅 Fortier, Simon Hudson and Charlotte Lucas, placed top 6 out of 30 competing universities at this year鈥檚 competition which took聽place from聽February 12 to 17, 2013.

Fifty years ago, Rachel Carson published her bestseller, Silent Spring, and the chemical industry was changed forever. An indictment of inattention to the flow and negative consequences of synthetic chemicals in the environment, Carson鈥檚 book catalyzed the environmental movement in North America. It also undermined the public鈥檚 confidence in simple assertions of 鈥渂etter living through chemistry鈥� which, while not untrue, did not represent a full accounting of the risks and benefits of chemical technologies. The industry has been challenged to regain the public鈥檚 confidence ever since.

Students from the Desautels Faculty of Management to generate support for Russia鈥檚 Kitezh Children鈥檚 Community
Montreal, February 18, 2013 鈥� Thirty-four MBA and Bachelor of Commerce students from 韩国裸舞鈥檚 Desautels Faculty of Management will travel to Russia from February 28 to March 11 to visit companies, speak with business leaders 鈥� and use social media to raise funds for orphaned children in the Kaluga region.

Desautels鈥� Bronfman building opened its doors to the unique and competitive world of the entertainment industry by hosting the first Entertainment Management Conference (EMC) from February 1st to 2nd.
鈥� The first day of the conference allowed the participants to learn about the different facets of the entertainment industry from some of the field鈥檚 most prestigious names. The keynote speakers included President and Co-Founder of Just for Laughs, Andy Nulman (BCom鈥�83), and CEO and Founder of INK Entertainment, Charles Khabouth.

A. We're looking very carefully at work experience. I think we're looking as well at motivation and what people are after. We look at references. But beyond that, we also ask each student the question: 鈥淲hat do you bring to the learning experience of others?鈥� Each student has to bring something that helps other students to learn as well.
