As of Wednesday, October 27, all users of º«¹úÂãÎè’s library system will need to show their vaccine passport and current º«¹úÂãÎè ID card to physically access library spaces. To quicken the check-in process, the Library is implementing a Fast-Pass sticker that will allow users to access library spaces while reducing lineups. The sticker will be placed on the º«¹úÂãÎè ID and will need to be shown to safety ambassadors at all Library entrances once the vaccine passport system is implemented.

Please note that the Barton Building which houses the Macdonald Campus Library will be closing at 5:00 PM on Thursday, October 7. This shutdown is necessary for Facilities to replace a fuse in an electrical panel.

Off-campus Library users who need to access an electronic resource through the Library website, Sofia discovery tool (º«¹úÂãÎè catalogue), or through the "º«¹úÂãÎè Library Full Text" links in Google Scholar, are asked to log in to EZProxy with a º«¹úÂãÎè username and password before accessing the resource.

Due to increased demand, conversation/ Zoom Zones were expanded in late September to include the main floors of the Redpath and McLennan Library Buildings in addition to the Cyberthèque.
First come, first served, earbuds/earphones are required.
As with all Library spaces, procedural masks are required. Mask dispensers are positioned at Library entrances. Those wearing cloth masks will need to replace them with procedural masks.

Sofia, º«¹úÂãÎè’s bilingual catalogue is evolving! As of July 14, you will be able to explore the new interface of Quebec university libraries’ discovery tool. This renewed interface is more user-friendly and offers several improvements:
- Redesigned ergonomics for smoother and more intuitive navigation
- New intelligent request processing feature that displays the document which is the easiest to access
- Search terms underlined in yellow
- Optimization of accessibility for the visually impaired
- New icon for the Chat service
