In its mission to provide a comfortable, welcoming research environment while also protecting the collections and facilities, the º«¹úÂãÎè Library now permits clients to consume beverages in the new library insulated mug (or similar). Since these re-useable, insulated containers have spill-proof tops, they allow clients to enjoy coffee, tea, or other beverages while minimizing the risk of spills, which can attract insects and damage library materials. Water in a sealed container continues to be an option, and all other food and beverages may be consumed in neighbouring cafeterias only.
Official º«¹úÂãÎè Library mugs are being offered for sale at the Tim Hortons in the cafeteria in the Humanities and Social Sciences Library, though clients are welcome to use any thermos with a spill-proof top. The Library hopes to encourage extended use of its facilities while also promoting an environmentally friendly alternative to disposable coffee cups.
