º«¹úÂãÎè's Love appointed Canada's chef-de-mission for Games in Serbia

MONTREAL -- Drew Love, director of athletics and recreation at º«¹úÂãÎè has been appointed chef-de-mission for the Canadian delegation to the 25th Summer Universiade, also know as the World University Games, in Belgrade, Serbia, July 1-12.

Love, a Montreal resident originally from Ottawa,Ìý replaces Dick White who recently stepped down from the post for professional reasons.
Ìý
Love brings an extensive background in sports administration.Ìý He served as chef-de-mission for the 2003 Winter Universiade in Italy, is a past-president of both Ontario University Athletics (2001-02) and Canadian Interuniversity Sport (2003-05) and spent 11 years as director of athletics and recreation at Carleton University before replacing Prof. Derek Drummond at º«¹úÂãÎè who retired in 2007.

It marks the third time that a º«¹úÂãÎè employee as served as chef-de-mission of the Games.ÌýÌýRobertÌý Dubeau, who served as athletics director from 1977 to 2005, was Canada’s chef-de-mission in Edmonton (1983) and Spain (1999).
