MAKING THE MBA WORTHWHILE

Longtime B-school critic Henry Mintzberg, a professor at the Desautels Faculty of Management of º«¹úÂãÎè, is highly skeptical that a group of M.B.A.s can produce any meaningful change, specifically in the public health arena, where legions of aid workers have failed for years. He concedes, though, that these programs are a better alternative to sitting in a classroom going over case studies. "You cannot create a manager in a classroom. It is a fundamental problem that business schools still don't get," he says.
