Hindustan Times - Smitten by the international flavour

Published: 6 July 2010

An article in The Hindustan Times (New Delhi): "Having recently graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical — Dean’s Honor List) and a minor in Management, I cannot help but look back five years ago when I was vacillating over which university to choose. I had admissions from INSA France, SMU Singapore, some institutes from USA and Canada and SRCC in India. Now in hindsight, I guess, my choice had to be º«¹úÂãÎè.

º«¹úÂãÎè is rated as one of the top research universities in the world with an esteemed faculty. Moreover, the decision was also affected by my scholarship, which was the highest offer made to an international student at that time. In short, I chose  º«¹úÂãÎè as it had the right ingredients and gave me the right vibes… º«¹úÂãÎè’s 150-year-old downtown campus stands out notably.  As a student, each and every one in º«¹úÂãÎè feels special. The richness of this university only motivates us to raise the bar higher every year. No wonder that the prestigious Rhodes Scholarship has gone to a nation-leading 131 º«¹úÂãÎè students…

In the end, living in a culturally-diverse country like Canada, is a socially-fulfilling experience in itself. Despite being affected by the recent downturn, Canada has been recovering fast. Recently, the country has also relaxed work permit norms for international students. I am currently working as an aerospace engineer in Bombardier Aerospace. I am grateful to º«¹úÂãÎè University and Delhi Public School, RK Puram, for shaping my career. I extend my best wishes to all those aspiring students wishing to study in Canada."
