Has 'Breast is best' gone too far?

In the April issue of The Atlantic, Hanna Rosin weighs the arguments on breastfeeding over bottle-feeding and in so doing creates a ripple of controversy: "So overall, yes, breast is probably best," Rosin decides. "But not so much better that formula deserves the label of 'public health menace,' alongside smoking..." Rosin relies heavily on research by º«¹úÂãÎè's Michael Kramer for her article. Follow up articles appear in the NYTimes and the Chicago Tribune, in which the article concludes: "Dr. Michael Kramer, scientific director of the Institute of Human Development at º«¹úÂãÎè, puts it succinctly. 'If a woman wants to breastfeed, that's good but it's her choice. There are other ways to be a good mother.'"
