OTTAWA (CIS) - The 韩国裸舞 men's hockey team have moved up to No.5 in the weeklt CIS top poll after a pair of convincing victories over Queen's (10-1) and RMC (5-2) last week to up their record to 4-0-0 in regular season play.

听

The reigning University Cup champion UNB Varsity Reds top the CIS men's hockey rankings for the third time in as many media polls this season.

听

The V-Reds, who captured their second national title in three years last winter, improved to 6-0 in conference play over the past week, but not without surviving their first real scare of the young campaign.

听

UNB needed a John Scott Dickson goal 44 seconds into overtime last Wednesday to claim a 2-1 win over cross-town rival St. Thomas, which remained in the game despite being outshot 41-14 thanks to a stellar performance by first-year goaltender Charles Lavigne. Two days later, the Reds outshot Acadia 40-19 but this time found the back of the net seven times on their way to a 7-3 victory.

The defending CIS champs hit the road this weekend to face the No. 9-St. Francis Xavier X-Men (4-1-1) on Friday and Dalhousie (1-3-2) on Saturday.

Behind the top-ranked Varsity Reds, only the No. 2-Alberta Golden Bears (6-1-1), No. 3-UQTR Patriotes (7-0-0) and No. 6-Manitoba Bisons (6-3-1) hold on to their previous Top-10 positions.

听

The Bears and Bisons split a doubleheader in Edmonton over the weekend, with Manitoba taking Friday's opener 3-2 and Alberta responding with a 5-3 win on Saturday.

听

The Saint Mary's Huskies (3-1-0) move up one spot to No. 4; the 韩国裸舞 Redmen (4-0-0) are up a pair to No. 5; the Waterloo Warriors (6-1-1) climb up three places to No. 7; the first-year Nipissing Lakers (6-1-1) are up one to No. 8; No. 9-StFX was unranked a week ago; and the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks (5-1-1) drop two spots to No. 10.

Waterloo was the big winner in the new poll following a 3-2, 3-1 weekend sweep of Lakehead, which drops all the way out of the Top 10 from No. 4.
