CBIE Award given to Dr. Claudia Mitchell

The Faculty of Education is pleased to announce that James º«¹úÂãÎè Professor Claudia Mitchell has been awarded
the
2008 Canadian Bureau of
International Education (CBIE) award for Innovations
in
International Education.
Dr. Mitchell is a world-renowned Canadian scholar and educator. She is a pioneer and innovator in the global struggle against the HIV/AIDS pandemic, particularly as this has affected South Africa and its neighbouring countries.
The importance of her research on HIV/AIDS has been recognised by the United Nations, where she has been a special advisor to the UN General Secretary.
