TA Discussion Group

Thursday, February 16, 2012 11:30to13:00
Thomson House 3650 rue McTavish, Montreal, QC, H3A 1Y2, CA

It's often the case that the best person to help you out when you've got problems or questions is someone who's been there. To that end, we invite you to participate in one of our Discussion Groups on Teaching and Learning.

The goals of the discussion groups are to address teaching issues that come up as the semester progresses, share tips and strategies for effective teaching, and to form collaborative teaching relationships with your fellow TAs. Each group is moderated by a T-PULSE Science Graduate Teaching Fellow.

What should you expect? A typical session will be about 60-90 minutes long; stay for as long as you'd like. The discussions are informal and setting is relaxed.

The next discussion group will take place from 11:30am - 1:00pm on Thursday, February 16th in room 406 of Thomson House; the topic will be grading and feedback. Feel free to come with your lunch or a pint in hand, and we'll provide some snacks.

To let us know how many people to expect we're asking you to register. Go to the , and enter your Minerva ID and password. Click on Registration for T-PULSE Graduate Teaching Workshops and on the next page choose "TPW 200: TA Discussion Group," pick the open section, and click on "Submit Registration Request". You'll receive confirmation of your registration by return email.
