Freaky Fridays - Storm perfection

Dr. Ronald Stewart, Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences, º«¹úÂãÎè. Followed by the film "The Perfect Storm." To an atmospheric scientist, a perfect storm occurs when several factors come together to make it especially catastrophic. The 1998 Ice Storm was a perfect storm and Hurricane Katrina in 2005 was another. This presentation focuses on the factors that lead to such storms, including the 1991 event dramatized in the film. Proceeds from this series will fund construction of a giant origami Pteranodon to be suspended above the Museum's dinosaur. $5 at the door
