The use of social-ethical values issues for political ends is now a major election strategy in countries like Canada and the United States. Such issues include same-sex marriage, abortion, engaging in armed conflict, and access to health care. Margaret Somerville, Samuel Gale Professor of Law and founding director, Centre for Medicine, Ethics and Law, º«¹úÂãÎè, will explore how manipulation of these issues by politicians and the media can influence voting decisions and leave "middle ground" voters with no clear choice of whom to vote for. $15 US
