Within and across phrases agreement: different windows into syntax processing
Most ERPs study of syntactic processing applied a violation paradigm to the subject-verb agreement relation. This approach that lead to a very complex picture in the interpretation of the main electrophysiological correlates of syntactic processing during sentence comprehension, namely the LAN and the P600. In this talk I suggest that a closer look to within phrase agreement phenomena such as determiner-noun can give complementary information about these physiological indexes and the underlying cognitive processes.
