Public Lecture: "Perspective on the Search for Other Earths"
The º«¹úÂãÎè Physics Department and the º«¹úÂãÎè Space Institute present a Beatty Public Lecture in commemoration of the UNESCO's International Year of Light.
Prof. Debra Fischer (from Yale University) will present her "Perspective on the Search for Other Earths". See .
Prof. Fischer received her PhD from the University of California at Santa Cruz, and became professor at Yale University in 2009. She works on the detection and characterization of planets around other stars. She participated in the discovery of the first multiple-planet system.
The lecture will be held on Thursday, March 12th, at 6:30pm, in room 522 of the McIntyre Medical Building () at º«¹úÂãÎè.
This event, funded by the Beatty Memorial Funds at º«¹úÂãÎè, is intended for a general audience, and it is free of charge. No reservation is necessary.
