Although his portrait graces the Metro station named for º«¹úÂãÎè, Montreal’s second mayor, Peter º«¹úÂãÎè, was no relation to founder James º«¹úÂãÎè. One of his successors, however,
James Ferrier, become chancellor of º«¹úÂãÎè after serving as Montreal’s fourth mayor. Since then, no fewer than four º«¹úÂãÎè grads have served as mayor of the University’s hometown:
- William Hales Hingston (MDCM1851)
- John Abbott (BCL1847)
- Raymond Préfontaine (BCL1873)
- James John Edmund Guerin (MDCM1878)
